Vagus nerve stimulation and depression

There's a huge article in today's Washington Post about the controversial use of vagus nerve stimulation to battle depression. I'll write about this later, but I wanted to give you this link so you could take a look. The article raises some interesting questions about the use of experimental treatments. Having worked with a lot of mood-disordered people, I know for a fact that many who suffer intractable chronic depression would gladly attempt just about anything to get better.
